Description
So, at Wizard World Chicago I was talking to another photographer and he noticed my rig and said "You know you don't need that flash bracket." Feeling lazy and non-confrontational I ignored the statement.
This image shows that in certain situations a flash bracket would be beneficial. In this photo I had the flash mounted to my camera. So when I turned it to do a vertical shot the flash was to the left of the subject, which in turn cast a very noticeable shadow on the wall.
Now if I was using my flash bracket I could have positioned my flash above my camera when I was shooting vertically. Then the shadow would be cast behind the cosplayer making it less noticeable. And now you know that flash brackets can be helpful.
